Vanesa Fernanda Mahia
Vanesa is in charge of the Corporate Department and advising on M&A.
Vanesa graduated with honors from the Universidad Católica Argentina (1993). She started her career as an associate in the firm Brons & Salas (1993-1996) and then joined the law firm Ortiz & Asociados.

Marcelo G. Nardi
Lawyer and consultant in criminal and contraventional matters.
Marcelo graduated from the Universidad de Buenos Aires in 1993. He is specialized in FCPA and economic criminal law. Prior to joining Ortiz & Asociados, he was partner of the firm Scelzi Abogados. In 1983 he worked for the Justice Department. He was substitute judge at the Tribunal Oral Criminal Nro. 17 of the National Justice Department and Viceminister of Secuirty of the Province of Buenos Aires. Marcelo has presided the Sala III of the Ethics Court of the Federal Bar Association and is a member of its board. He is also director of the association “Afianzar. Abogados por la República”, with representation in the Organización de los Estados Americanos (OEA).
Marcelo has been Professor of Criminal Law at the Universidad Católica de Salta and Profesor and Visiting Professor of the Criminal Investigation Degree at the Universidad Católica Argentina. He has also been Professor of Law at Colegio Militar de la Nación.
Marcelo has been a speaker and conference lecturer at numerous national and international conferences.

Jorge D. Ortiz
Jorge is the head of the Firm, and his expertise focuses on Business, Mergers & Acquisitions, Commercial and Financial Law.
Jorge received his law degree summa cum laude from Universidad de Buenos Aires in 1980. He worked in New York as an associate in Winthrop, Stimpson Putnam & Roberts, New York; (currently Pillsbury Winthrop) and later in the local law firm, Beccar Varela.
Jorge was head of the legal division for American Express Travel Related and Consumer Financial Services for Latin America, Central America & Caribbean.
Jorge has also been president of several multinational companies including Nabisco Argentina S.A.; Establecimiento Modelo Terrabusi S.A.; CINBA S.A., a Diageo subsidiary; the Argentine-American Chamber of Commerce in Miami and AT&T Argentina S.R.L., among others.
He has been a speaker and conference lecturer at numerous national and international conferences. Jorge is a current member of the American Bar Association, among other organizations.
He is Professor of Acquisitions and Business Reorganizations for the Master in Business Law Program at Universidad de San Andrés. He is consistently ranked as one of the best M&A lawyers in Argentina.

Florencia Ortiz (Off Counsel)
Florencia joined the Ortiz & Asociados Law Firm team in 2015 where she works in the Contracts, M&A and Regulatory Law Area and chairs the firm's Brazilian Desk.
Florencia graduated with honors from the Universidad Austral (2004), and received the Academic Excellence Award from the Buenos Aires Bar Association.
She holds a postgraduate degree in Law and Economics from the Universidad Torcuato Di Tella University and an LL.M. from Columbia University, where she received the Parker School Certificate and Harlan Fiske Stone scholar diploma.
Prior to joining Ortiz & Asociados in 2015, Florencia worked at the law firm of Hope, Duggan & Silva in Buenos Aires, and afterwards at the law firm of Rosso Alba, Francia & Ruiz Moreno, in the tax and corporate law department. In 2008, she moved to Brazil and worked for more than four years at the project finance, and contractual and regulatory law department of Machado, Meyer, Sendacz e Opice, one of the major Brazilian law firms, in both their São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro offices. In 2012, Florencia was hired by infrastructure fund Investimentos e Participações em Infraestrutura (INVEPAR) to structure the company’s new projects.
In 2015, she joined Ortiz & Asociados to work in the area of Contracts, and Energy and Renewable Energies. She leads the firm’s Brazilian Desk.
She participated as a speaker at Brazil Windpower 2011 & 201 and published numerous articles on corporate, tax and renewable energies.

Luis Palomino is in charge of the Litigation Department and the Insurance Area.

The World's Leading Lawyers for Business” as one of the 10 leaders in Litigation in the Argentine Republic.
In public management, he was director of the Directorate of Newspapers and Magazines of the Ministry of Labor of the Nation and chaired the National Commission that includes all sectors of the System (Publishers, Distributors and Sellers).
